Long Story Short

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Maybe you've noticed, maybe you haven't but... I haven't blogged in what feels like forever!

I've been a bit sidetracked jumping from city to city and country to country!

Long story short we moved last week from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, spent one night in Bangkok before hopping on a plane to Malaysia where we stayed for one week before returning to Bangkok.

In Malay we killed two birds with one stone, a family vacation and a necessary visa run (so we could come back and stay in Thailand).

And upon arrival to Bangkok we relocated to what will be our new home for the next five months! We are for the most part unpacked and ready to begin our new adventure teaching English in this HUGE city, becoming a family of four, and learning more and more about Thailand, trusting God, and about living life abroad as a family!

Stay tuned, lots of updates from our recent travels coming soon!

April Mayhem

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

April is here!
This means many things, but I'm going to sum it up in two words...

MAYHEM MONTH!
The madness and mayhem began early with Easter weekend and O&M's first market on Salt Spring. We just celebrated my birthday, which was April 8th! Every Friday and Saturday of the month will be spent traveling and doing the market. Sevio's second semester ends this month so add extra studying for exams. We need to make up a budget, apply for visas, look for flights for our upcoming internship to Thailand. And in whatever spare time we find between keeping ourselves and Rylee alive and sane we will be packing to move for the end of the month.

and can you believe there's only 20 days left in the month!! If I am a bit twitchy in May we'll all know why!

Don't forget to follow us on facebook and twitter for photos and updates not posted on the blog.

A Home At Last

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Thank goodness for free wifi because we have been without internet since we've moved and I'm feeling a little bit disconnected from the outside world...I know right, how catastrophic! It's actually been nice! I haven't touched my computer in 4 days, saving myself from who knows how many, but a LOT of wasted hours. However I have missed my little world of blogging and hopefully you've missed me too!

Anyways back to the point of this post, WE'VE MOVED! It's official as of Monday! We're living in a two bedroom basement suite (which has more space then we've ever known in our married lives), we're in a nice neighbourhood, we have a kind of communal backyard with a pond and trails (which makes me very happy, we have a little piece of city that is not covered in concrete!). And extra bonus it's within walking distance to everything we need!

The last couple days we've spent unpacking boxes upon boxes, loading up the fridge, and making our new nest home. There's still a lot of work to do and we're going to have to get creative because there isn't much storage space. I happy though that the kitchen and living room are set up, the harder more tedious jobs await this procrastinating mom...the bedrooms!

Apologies!

I just have to say I'm sorry for my lack of blogging...life has just been mad!

Due to our upcoming move, actually our two moves (we move out of our house July 31st into a motor home for the month of August, and then we officially move to Abbotsford Sept.1st), I've begun packing which involves sorting and purging all things that have seen their day or are just no longer welcome to take up valuable living space.

So to say the least it feels good to get rid of what we don't need, and even though the is still a lot more to go through, I know it's going to feel so good moving into our new place with a fresh slate. Yay for no more junk drawers or random shoeboxes full of thing-a-ma-doo's.

I promise I'll get back to the more important things in life soon... ie updating you all on all of Rylee wonderfulness.

stay tuned...
