What are some of your Christmas Eve traditions?
This year we kept one tradition alive, one we've adopted from Sevio's family. We all sat down to listen to Sevio paraphrase the Christmas story of Jesus' birth and read from the bible 1 Corinthians 11:23‐28 (where Jesus shares in the first ever communion with his disciples), after which we all shared in communion together.
We finished up the night with some last minute present wrapping, stuffing of stockings (which for Sevio and I are actually Santa hats), and family snuggles watching a Christmas movie.
Can't wait till the morning to crank the Christmas tunes, drink hot chocolate, eat candy canes, skype with family back home, and watch Rylee's little eyes fill with delight as she opens her gifts!
Hope you all have a safe Christmas filled with peace, joy, love, and maybe some of that white stuff!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

My family tradition, growing up, has always been to open up one present on Christmas Even and I assume that I will do that once I have a living child of my own (I had a stillborn, full term, almost nine years ago this upcoming January and an early miscarriage this past August). I also love Oh Holy Night-- it's just such a beautiful song. I think that Martina McBride does such a great job singing it, even though I'm not the biggest country music fan! I'm absolutely loving the photo that you posted.. it's just too darn precious!
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely loving the pictures! Christmas trees and baby bump pictures just go hand-in-hand to me..
