Vacation Day One

Friday, April 11, 2014

Wow! It's been a while since I blogged last, we have been living in a bit of a whirlwind. In the last two weeks we officially finished up with Sevio's 8 month internship, moved out of our apartment, picked up my Dad and sister at the airport, spent 3 days in BKK being tourists, and have just spent 3 days in Chiang Rai, and tomorrow we will be en route to Chiang Mai!

Here are some pics from our first day of vacation enjoying the pool before picking up my Dad and sister. (Rylee has turned into a little fish with her new floaty)

The "Ool"

Thursday, March 13, 2014

Obviously life has been a bit crazy with the addition of a wee little man and I'm a little behind on keeping up with it all here. So hold on tight and get ready for a some blitz posts containing many pictures of our two little bundles of adorableness.

To start the blitz we have our day at the "ool" as Rylee calls it. We stayed one night at a hotel before catching an early bird train to Cambodia for our visa run (more on that later). Purposely picking a hotel with a pool we checked in as early as possible and spent most of the afternoon poolside! Much to our surprise, Rylee, who generally hates water, was splashing all over the place like a natural born water baby (which she was). This was a few weeks ago now and she's still talking about it, she asks regularly to go to the pool and/or beach, it's pretty adorable!

Zach on the other hand burst into an instant fit of screams when he touched the cold water (he is his mothers child... I haaaaate cold water). So while Daddy tended to Rylee the fish, I lounged with Zach the crab.

Trip To The Beach

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Is everyone enjoying this fabulous weather!? I know we are!! Yesterday we went to the beach to throw some rocks in the water and break in Rylee's new sunhat (I splurged, but I'm calling it an investment...I bought it two sizes too big because its super adjustable and bonus it has UV protection!). We had fun and a trip to the ocean isn't complete without a slip on seaweed...Ry got a bit of soggy bum and from that point on wanted me to carry her around.

A Day At The Park

Monday, May 6, 2013

I've finally found some time to edit our pictures from our trip to the park a week ago! And for once I wasn't the one behind the lens! Now we just got to work on getting some updated pictures with all three of us.

Beach Day!

Thursday, July 5, 2012

"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun."
-Unknown-

“The beach is in our blood. Everyone in our family returns
to the beach instinctively, just like the sea turtles.”
-Sandy Archibald-

“Play in the sand; splash in the water; get dirty; get wet. The beach is the only place my mom doesn’t get mad about me doing that stuff.”
--Dixie Dykens (age 5)-

Summer has arrived (finally) and what better way to celebrate than to go to the beach! It was Ry's first time to dip her toes in the Pacific Ocean, and her first time setting eyes on little crabs, and her first time touching slimy seaweed!

I wish I had a picture of her first encounter with the poor unsuspecting crab, I was holding it to show her and without the slightest hesitation she reached out and grabbed the little guy by his pincher and just let him dangle around. Don't worry he survived, maybe a little traumatized, and with all limbs attached!

It was a beautiful day, and hopefully the first of many! Can't wait to get her to the lakes swimming to kick her little legs and so she can wear her itsy bitsy teenie weenie little polka dot...swim suit! She's a little young for a bikini folks, don't want those rowdy toddlers chasing after her, Daddy would have a conniption!
