Twoonie Swim!

Friday, October 19, 2012

Today we went to the pool with Rylee's cousin. Before we moved I had thoughts of taking these two to the pool by myself, but after today I realized that would be entirely IMPOSSIBLE! I was so thankful Sevio agreed to come with me because surely one of them would have drowned!

They both were so excited to be in the water, there wasn't a moment when they weren't bouncing or splashing around. And I'm pretty sure they both swallowed a litre of water, Rylee was so funny she kept purposely dipping her face in the pool (she NEVER does that, she usually a little afraid of water).

Lake Day

Thursday, July 12, 2012

On Monday I picked Sevio up from work and we went to one of the local lakes for a swim. I packed towels and a blanket and a picnic dinner so we could all have some relaxing family time enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

This was Rylee's first time to a lake and her first time swimming in fresh water! Daddy took her out...I'm a coward when it comes to cold water (I'm a tropical swimmer), and at first she was a bit hesitant as he dipped her in but after a little bit she got used to it and had a great time playing with Daddy splashing about.

Thank goodness for summer weather...FINALLY! Here's to many more days like this one.

Baby Beluga

Monday, April 30, 2012

When Rylee was still in the womb we called her baby Beluga, and when she was overdue I would sing to her my own rendition of "Baby Beluga,"

"Baby Beluga,
swimmin' in the deep blue sea
Baby Beluga,
when ya gonna come see me."

I know, I know I'm a poetic genius! Anyways, the point I'm getting at here is I think Rylee is going to be a water loving baby. She was born in the water, she LOVES bath time, and she loves the pool.

Last Friday we took her to the pool in Nanaimo, and shes getting big enough now that we can put her in those floating fish things with built in seats for babies, so cute. And its at the pool that you see her little social butterfly personality come out, with all the noise and commotion of kids running and splashing around, she just swivels her head this way and that staring at everything that's going on around her.

I can't wait till summer when we can go hang out at the lake all day and Rylee can sit in her cute little swimsuit on the edge of the water splashing and playing with other kids making mud and building sand castles!
